Will Battle Legally and Politically for Mahadayi Water: Goa CM Sawant

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has talked about the coastal state will win the battle for the Mahadayi river water as his govt is making efforts on jail, technical and political fronts and leaving no stone unturned.

Goa and Karnataka are at loggerheads over diversion of the Mahadayi water in the course of the constructing of dams by way of Karnataka on the river’s tributaries Kalasa and Banduri.

The Central Water Fee these days licensed an in depth mission file (DPR) submitted by way of Karnataka for the event of the two dams, to which the Goa govt has objected.

The Goa govt has contended that Karnataka can’t divert water from the Mahadayi river, as a result of it passes in the course of the Mahadayi Wildlife Sanctuary, which is positioned downstream in North Goa.
